photo: shows

If you are looking for a terrific entertainment experience in Branson that the entire family would enjoy, your first stop should be at the Mansion America Theatre to see the astounding production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor© Dreamcoat". Mansion America is dedicated to produce and present the very finest in high-quality, family-oriented entertainment at the newly remolded 2,900 seat venue.

"Joseph" is the creation of famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice. Lloyd Webber is noted for his works such as "Cats", "Evita", "Phantom of the Opera" and many more acclaimed Broadway mega-hits.

"Joseph" is a fun, fast paced, modern version of the Old Testament story from Genesis which tells about Joseph, the dreamer, his father Jacob, and the betrayal of Joseph at the hands of his eleven brothers who, because of their jealousy, sell Joseph into slavery. Of course, Joseph rises to become a leader of Egypt under the mighty Pharaoh.

The story fittingly ends in forgiveness and a heartwarming family reunion. Complete with a great musical score encompassing many styles and memorable songs, beautiful lighting, and stunning theatrical sets and costumes, "Joseph" is currently a benchmark show in the Branson market.

The host and musical narrator of "Joseph" is Kellye Cash, Miss America 1987 and the niece of country music legend and Hall of Fame inductee, Johnny Cash. Kellye, a contemporary Christian recording artist and lecturer, has appeared in productions throughout the country, on national television shows such as "Late Night with David Letterman", "The Today Show" and "Live with Regis Philbin and Kathy Lee Gifford", and was featured in the title role of "AlwaysÉPatsy Cline" on its successful national tour.

While the cast of 30 highly talented singers/dancers/actors hail from across the country, the producers of "Joseph" found the leading actor to portray Joseph within a short drive of the Mansion America Theatre. Landon Rose, 22 years old and from Webb City, Missouri, has wowed audiences with his ability to enchantingly bring the character of Joseph alive on the stage. He is a strong singer and an exceptional actor.

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor© Dreamcoat" will run until Dec. 14th of this year, with both matinee and evening performances. Call (866) 707-4100 for selected show dates and times.

Joining "Joseph" in 2004 at the Mansion America Theatre will be "Celebrate America", an all-new, world-class, patriotic spectacular created by the producers of "Joseph". Tickets for both shows are currently on sale.
